#Sternguard with sentinels of terra code

This is easily one of my favourite units in the army, i decided early on i wanted a Heavy bolter devastator squad to use in conjunction with the imperial fist chapter tactics, but thought that traditional heavy bolters look a bit dull, i've always loved assault cannons and lamented the lack of them throughout any army in 40k (they look way too badass to be left to terminators and vehicles!) I use them as regular heavy bolters, and gave the brothers holding them Black Templar pennants, They'll eventually be getting a sergeant made from the new Sternguard box to tie in better. There are a few common causes for this error code including problems with the individual script that may be executed upon request. I had these boys sitting around and i thought i would paint them up, i'll be bolstering their ranks with some of the new plastic Sternguard and probably retiring them eventually to the reserves bench. The first Tactical squad (bit of a dodgy picture unfortunately!) i've used a mix of old metal models and plastics, including a 2nd edition Shoulder mounted lascannon and Maximus armour (and the petulant Heresy armoured marine hiding in the background.) I liked that GW brought out a "Reclusiam Command Squad" but thought it was a bit silly there was no nod to them actually being any different to a normal command squad, so i decided to make these guys up out of Dark Angels Veterans to accompany Chaplain Atraxus. This is Venerable Brother Oryx who i managed to paint in 2 hours the other night, he came out really well considering and was my first chance to play with the new Nihilakh oxide technical paint. I loved the idea of an overly ostentatious model with pure white armour, gold trim and a big red cape, so here he is! This will serve as Syrax when he is standing in as a Pedro Kantor homebrew. This model is less finished than the others i will be posting, but he is most of the way there. I had a box of the metal Marneus Calgar and Honour guard kit kicking about for a few years and have always wanted to paint the models, but have never been in a rush to do an Ultramarines army (who is really?) I thought the models would look really cool with a scheme repaint, and a headswap on Marneus means he can double as my home grown Chapter Master Syrax. But i also thought in turn that this character would give them a slightly "ugly" edge when viewed by others, so decided to use many of the "bald" helmeted Chaos Space marine head throughout the army as i thought it seemed to fit in with the idea.Īnyway, enough wittering, i've been painting marines for the army for about 2 months now and have quite a few painted already, so here's what you clicked on the link for pictures of badass marines! Lots of pennants, robes, purity seals and gold decoration everywhere, as if they constantly desire to remind everyone, even their brother marines in other chapters, of their devotion and unswerving fealty to the codex. I decided that the Marines Exemplar (with their virtual lack of background as far as i am aware) would be possessed of an obstinate arrogance, even the name of the chapter seems to imply they think they are better than everyone else. I knew i'd be collecting the army with a mind to utilising different Chapter tactics between different games, but with a heavy leaning towards the Imperial Fists. Almost an inverted version of the Iron Lords (red arms instead of red legs, mostly black armour.) and with a brighter more vibrant red. Nothing particularly was grabbing me until i saw the colour scheme for the Marines Exemplar. With the recent release of the 6th edition Space Marine codex i have been lulled back into the fold, i knew i wanted to do something similar to my old Iron Lords Space Marines, but not the same.

I've not been around much, but i've been painting a whole lot, i have collected several new armies in recent years, but nothing ever really stuck quite like my Iron Lords did, i guess i can't help being a stalwart defender of humanity, and Imperial Guard are just too damn wimpy for my liking. Some of you might know me and remember my old Iron Lords project log.
